You Can Count On Jesus

Romans 10:11, “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

A lot of people misunderstand this Scripture, thinking that a genuine Christian won't be embarrassed of Jesus. That is not what the Bible means at all. Romans 10:11 is a quote from the Old Testament. Isaiah 28:16, "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth SHALL NOT MAKE HASTE."

The phrase "make haste" means "to run away." God is saying that sinners who believe on Jesus will not be disappointed, i.e., they won't have to run away in shame on Judgment Day.

Isaiah 28:16 tells us that Jesus is the precious corner stone, a SURE FOUNDATION. You won't go wrong my friend if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many people today deny that Jesus is the Messiah. Instead, they are trusting a house of cards for their eternal life, and they WILL be utterly ashamed when they stand in judgment one day before God the Father. There is only one name by which humanity can be saved, and that is the name of Jesus (Acts 4:10-12).

Even most religious people WILL be ashamed when they stand in judgment before God, because they have churchianity without Christianity. Matthew 7:22-23, "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." No amount of religious devotion can substitute for faith in the Lord.

Peter was ashamed of Jesus, even cursing the name of the Lord and denying any association with Him (Matthew 26:74; John 18:25). Yet, Peter was still a Christian (Matthew 16:16). Romans 10:11 has nothing to do with us being ashamed of Jesus during moments of spiritual weakness. Romans 10:11 refers to the faithfulness of our Lord, Who has promised that He will NEVER let us down in any way.

God is promising humanity, that anyone who believes on Jesus will not be disappointed. Your faith will not be in vain. John 3:18 states, "He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Oh, listen my friend, Muhammad will let you down! Allah will let you down! The Virgin Mary will let you down! But Jesus will never fail those who believe on Him.

You can count on Jesus!

John 8:32 and 36, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free ... If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
