Will Ye Also Go Away?

John 6:66-67, “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?”

Since the beginning of history, truth has offended people. Jesus spoke the truth in John 6:66-67 and it offended some people, so much in fact that they gave up and stopped following Him. We see this so much in the apostate world today. So many people, including religious people, won't follow the teachings of the Word of God because it just doesn't set right with them. But the truth is what it is and no one can change it!

Jesus didn't come to earth to tell the Pharisees how wonderful they were. No, rather, He came to SAVE SINNERS (1st Timothy 1:15). I thank God that he saved a wretch like me! I'm only going to Heaven when I die because of Christ's righteousness, and not because of any self-righteousness of my own, and a good thing, for I have none (and neither do you)!

Here's the complete passage of Scripture from John 6:64-69 . . .

John 6:64, “But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Does the truth offend you? We are living in an apostate generation, when ministers will say anything to make a buck. 2nd Timothy 4:3, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.” Most people today are absolutely intolerant of intolerant preaching. The truth is intolerant. 1 + 1 = 2. Now you can say and believe that 1 + 1 = 3, but you'd be wrong.

Jesus Christ came to this earth as the manifestation of the Godhead (John 1:1,14; 1st Timothy 3:16, King James Bible). If there's one Person in all the universe Whom we ought to listen to, it's Jesus Christ, God almighty Who came in the flesh. God the Father speaks to us today through God the Son (Hebrews 1:2). Jesus is the Living Word, and the Bible is the Written Word. If we are to have the mind of Christ  (Philippians 2:5) as born-again believers, then we must SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES as Jesus commanded in John 5:39.

Most Christian leaders today have replaced Biblical preaching with secular psychology that incorporates religious terms. It is a departure from the Biblical faith (1st Timothy 6:10). You'll be hard-pressed to find a man of God who exposes the evils of Catholicism and false religion. Joel Osteen recently endorsed the Mormon religion. Rick Warren said on national TV that the way of salvation is to give your self to Jesus. That's not what the Scriptures teach. We are sinners and our sins need to be paid for. Thankfully, Jesus paid our sin debt at Calvary. Salvation happens when one acknowledges their guilt of sin, and comes to God on that basis, believing on Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God, for forgiveness. Acts 10:43, “To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins.”

This website is here for one reason, and one reason only, to glorify the God of the Bible. In so doing, the TRUTH must be proclaimed. Jesus said in John 4:24 that they who worship God MUST worship Him in truth. Tragically, most people couldn't care less about the truth nowadays. Now only do they fail to love the truth, but they despise the truth as well. They are doomed by their own willing, woeful and foolish ignorance.

John 8:32,36, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free ... If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
