It's God's Way or the Highway
John 14:6, “ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the
truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Jesus
proclaimed in John 14:6 that He is the only way to the Father. That is a
very narrow way, and a strait gate, just as Matthew 7:13-14
teaches...
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Few people ever make it to Heaven, because most people have bought into the Devil's lie that there are many paths to Heaven besides Jesus Christ. Most religions in the world teach their followers that love and sincerity are the paths to Heaven; but God says they are roads to hellfire.
Jesus adamantly said, without controversy, that “no man cometh unto the Father BUT BY ME.” It's God's way or the highway. If you disagree, then you will burn in Hell when you die, it's that simple. I am not trying to be unkind, but the Bible is clear on this subject.
2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.”
If you stop to consider all the mainstream religions which deny that Jesus is the Messiah, it amounts to half the world's population.
It is difficult to grasp, seeing that salvation is so simple and free, that so many people would still be going to Hell. Yet, it is nonetheless true. Over 1,000,000,000 Catholics are on the highway to Hell and destruction, because instead of solely relying upon the redemptive work of Christ, they are relying upon their own self-righteousness and religion. Jesus plainly told the religious Scribes and Pharisees in Mark 7:13 that they had made THE WORD OF GOD OF NONE EFFECT THROUGH YOUR TRADITION. The Catholic Church is steeped in manmade traditions.
There are another 1,300,000,000 Islamic Muslims who are on the highway to Hell, because they openly deny that Jesus is the Messiah, nor that He even died on the cross. They knowingly reject Jesus Christ.
Then there's 1,000,000,000 followers1 of the Hindu religion, who adamantly deny that Jesus is the Son of God, the Christ.
Sadly, there's another 400,000,000 followers of Buddhism, Sikhism, the Bahá'í Faith, Scientology and Judaism who openly deny that Jesus is the Savior. Add to that an unknown number of atheists, which certainly must be at least 300,000,000.
Add those numbers together and that's 4,000,000,000 people so far who are all Christ-rejecters! Is it any wonder why Jesus said few people would find the strait gate and the narrow way which leadeth unto life?
The Word of God proclaims that there is ONLY ONE NAME by which men can be saved, and that is the name of JESUS (Acts 4:10-12). Most people today foolishly reason that God will allow anyone who is sincere into Heaven; but that is not what Matthew 7:21-23 teaches. Those religious people came to God in their self-righteousness, boasting of their good works, having even preached about Jesus; yet, God said, “Depart from Me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:23).
Jesus told them that the only way to Heaven was by doing the will of the Father. John 6:40 tells us what is the will of God... “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and BELIEVETH ON HIM, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” The will of God concerning salvation is that we BELIEVE ON HIM, i.e., Jesus Christ, to forgive our sins. That has always been the only way to be saved. Acts 10:43, “To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins.”
