Acts 22:28-29, “And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born ... and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.”
The Apostle Paul has been arrested, scourged, bound and imprisoned for
preaching the Gospel. The Chief Priest arrested Paul to find out why the
Romans were angry with him (Acts 22:24).
After horribly abusing Paul and treating him like garbage, Paul said something that scared them... “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?” (Acts 22:25). Paul had rights as a ROMAN CITIZEN! Notice that Paul said... I WAS BORN FREE!
As Americans, we were born free. The U.S. Constitution doesn't give us our rights, it only outlines our God-given rights. We were born free by the grace of God.
Sadly, future generations in America will be born slaves, if they're even allowed to be born. The One Child Policy of Communist China is coming to America. Already the Supreme Court has ruled that the biological father has no say over the life of a child in the mother's womb. If the mother decides to murder the baby by an abortion, there's absolutely nothing the father can do to stop her. Is America truly a free nation? If you think so, then I ask you... free for who? Abortionists calls themselves “pro-choice,” but they are “pro-death.” The baby certainly has no choice! Notice how cleverly the evil newsmedia calls Christians and those who love life, “anti-abortion.” Why don't they call us “pro-life.” The prefix “anti” is used deliberately for negative psychological conditioning. Abortionists would never tolerate being labeled as pro-death, but that's exactly what they are.
The saddest thing about the entire abortion issue is the question: why all the unwanted pregnancies? You'll never hear the truth from the newsmedia, but the fact is that America has become a nation of fornication (sex outside of a marriage commitment). Women who have never married obtain two-thirds of all abortions. Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended, and 4 in 10 of these are terminated by abortion. The problem of abortion would be eliminated if people would be responsible, which begs for the teaching of morals in the the Public School System. By teaching children that they are animals, they have acted like animals, and that is why there are so many abortions.
Freedom gives one the right to be wrong, not do wrong. Liberty is the privilege to make our own choices; freedom is the result of making the right choices. Americans have made so many wrong choices that we are quickly losing our freedoms. Honestly, Americans deserve to lose their freedoms, for being evil and kicking God out of the schools. The same people who sing GOD BLESS AMERICA, hypocritically flock to SIN CITY Las Vegas by the millions to spit in God's face. It is wicked.
Our Bill of Rights has been trampled upon in so many ways. Many cities are now declaring “Free Speech Zones,” a total violation of the U.S. Constitution. America's churches sold their souls to the government in the 1950's, by becoming 501c3 charities. Consequently, they forfeited their Bill of Rights. Those pastors are legally forbidden from speaking out against evils in government. Most of those pastors are cowards and puppets. All of America's churches have become businesses.
Much can be said concerning our Bill of Rights. The Apostle Paul said, I WAS BORN FREE! Amen! Don't miss the fact that Paul stood up for his rights. Paul said in Acts 22:25 that he was a Roman citizen and they had violated his rights. It's sad that many Christian leaders today teach blind submission to government. Paul didn't agree with that. When they violated Paul's rights, he stood up and made a fuss.
Freedom is discussed in the Bible. Daniel was cast into a lion's den because he knowingly and deliberately broke the law, which forbade him from praying to his God. Meshach, Shadrach and Abed-nego knowingly and deliberately broke the law, refusing to bow to Nebuchadnezzar's 90-foot golden image. The Bible tells us about many lawbreakers. In Acts 18:13, Paul was arrested and taken to court... “This fellow persuadeth men to worship God CONTRARY TO THE LAW.” They actually passed laws forcing people to worship God a certain way. Is this not what is happening in the United States today, by forcing child to learn the bogus claims of Evolution?
How much more Biblical evidence do you need to clearly see that disobedience to tyrants is obedience to God?
