Beware Of Ticketmaster Event Insurance Scam
by David J. Stewart | July 2022
I received an email this evening on July 12, 2022 from Ticketmaster about an upcoming Travis Tritt and Chris Janson concert at the Pensacola Bay Center on November 18, 2022. So I went to buy a ticket, but they buttonholed me first to purchase "event insurance" in case for some unforeseen reason I cannot attend the concert. They pressure you to buy the insurance, by showing on the webpage that 44,000 users have already purchase the insurance. Clearly they are buttonholing you to also purchase the event insurance for a $9.51 fee.
So I bought the ticket and the insurance. But as I always like to do, I went to read how to place a claim, just in case I don't feel well on the night of the concert.

As a reminder, you can upload documents and check the status of your claim on this website 24/7. SOURCEAs you can clearly read, you WON'T receive a refund for your $100 to $270 concert ticket UNLESS you have documentation verifying that you were in a car wreck, died, went to the hospital or have a doctor's note verifying that you really couldn't attend the concert. Kindly said, that is BULL SHIT!!!
I only purchased the event insurance because I suffer from an old neck injury (stenosis and radiculitis) which is unpredictable, so I never know how I will feel. But those jerks WILL NOT refund your ticket price (not a single penny) if you just decide to stay home. That is unethical in my humble opinion. People get sick at home, they have unforeseen circumstances arise at the last minute, they have family members in need, NONE OF WHICH are covered by Ticketmaster's Event Insurance!!! That is a scam!
I think Ticketmaster and their insurance company are dirty rooks! Their insurance company will profit nearly $1,000,000 for every 100,000 concert goers who purchase the Event Insurance! How many claims do you think actually get filed? Maybe 25 or 35 per concert? And most of those likely get rejected. What BULL SHIT insurance!!!
Thankfully, I CANCELLED my insurance the very same day that I was suckered into buying it by Ticketmaster. And HERE IS WHERE YOU CAN ALSO CANCEL YOUR INSURANCE (you only have 15 days from the date of insurance purchase). I will NEVER AGAIN purchase their damned bogus insurance.
If they were smart, they'd only charge you $25 (and refund the rest) if you just merely decide not to attend. I wouldn't mind that. But they are corporate thieves (in my humble opinion) who are so greedy for money, that once they get your hundreds of hard-earned dollars, that's it, you won't ever get your money back.
Beware of Ticketmaster's "Event Insurance" scam! They will rip you off if you stay home because you don't feel well, or your loved one needs your help; and Ticketmaster won't tell you until it is too late, when you're denied a refund. I am so sick and tired of dishonest, shady, greedy, insurance companies and other shameful unethical American businesses. The whole obvious idea behind Ticketmaster's shady insurance is to get your money, but make it almost impossible to receive a claim. I am SO GLAD that I cancelled my Event Insurance. Please don't give them your money either!
What really upsets me is that they don't tell you any of this upfront. Instead, you need to dig deep into their policies (which would take literally hours to read, and you'd need a lawyer to help you understand it all). CROOKS!!! Any honest person knows that FINE PRINT is written by thieves to protect thieves!
I am glad that there is no shady fine print in the inspired Holy Bible. I am so glad that God our Creator is not a lying, conniving, thuggish, deceitful, thief who takes advantage of people for His own gain (as does Ticketmaster and their rotten insurance company). Yeah, it pisses me off what they are doing. END
